The film follows the stories of acid attack survivors and the dedicated efforts of a British-Pakistani plastic surgeon, Dr. Mohammad Jawad, who travels to Pakistan to help restore their faces and lives through reconstructive surgery. The film garnered significant international acclaim, most notably winning the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film at the 84th Academy Awards.
